Points added?

Did we really get 2 extra points in the final minutes of the game?

2 players from Navy say we did, but for some reason that doesn't surprise me.

Yes, Orange DID receive an extra two points from the scorers table on Sunday. With Maroon up 53-51, Josh grabbed a rebound and hit the putback to make the score.... 55-53? Errr. No one noticed, since Maroon did not have any bench players to double-check the scoreboard (not that they should have to). And Kenny Powell was far too wrapped up in coaching the game to pay attention to such trivialities.

Maroon hit a basket to tie the game, but in reality that basket should have put them up by 2. James' bank floater on the ensuing possession gave Orange the "lead". Big jacked Maroon dude got by Josh and missed a lefty layup under the hoop. This shot was actually for the win, not the tie, although no one knew it at the time. After that failed play, Maroon proceeded to foul to stop the clock, which basically meant the game was over.

Ron, Lev, and I were laughing on the sidelines at how much of a joke the league can be sometimes. Pretty ridiculous. But with the way the refs were calling that game, it wasn't such a injustice that they gave Orange a couple extra points. In fact, it probably evened it out.
